My opinion on rats is still the same, they are ugly and disgusting. The fact that they are ticklish doesn't make them any more or less cute.

It is extremely weird how rats can be tickled! How did rats develop this sense of ticklishness in the first place?

The rats are so adorable. Also I tried to prove the article wrong that a person can not tickle themselves, I failed.

I think the rats are cute. It is so adorable how they giggle when they tickled them. They act just like a normal person would react to when they are being tickled.

I thought that it was adorable that the rat would run to the researcher just to be tickled.

It is astonishing how rats actually feel ticklish.I would have expected a more violent reaction, rather than enjoyment.

Rats are still really gross to me. They are still nasty rodents, but it's still sort of interesting that they are ticklish.

You cant tickle rats when they are in a bad mood.-Mary

It is really interesting to see that rats are ticklish. It was an interesting article and I enjoyed the video to see how a rat was ticklish in different types of the body and even hearing their "laugh" was amusing. I think that this discovery could help scientist reach new and interesting discoveries to help science. I wonder what other similar traits they share with us.

It is interesting to know that the rats did not respond to tickling when put under fearful situations.

Although rats are disgusting, the laughter was adorable. I felt quite uncomfortable watching people tickle rats; however, I respect the analytical process. I found it interesting how they do not feel tickled if not made comfortable or in a good mood.

These rats are cute unlike the ones in the school cafeteria. Maybe rats are more like humans after all.

I would still like to know why rats "laugh" at such a high frequency.

Unknown said...

Many scientist today still question the evolution of laughter in humans, therefore laughter in rats is very interesting. The author made a point about humans not being able to tickle themselves. Which makes laughter itself a very questionable reaction in humans, better yet rats. This proves that animals are much similar to humans then we can predict.

"Rata inmunda, animal rastrero"- Paquita
This video proves rats and humans share one of the most common reflexes when being tickled. Laughter. "Laughter is the language of the world."- Pablo Neruda. Rats are just like us.

Just because they are ticklish does not make them likeable. When I'm in a bad mood and someone tries to tickle me, it is not enjoyable.

I find it very interesting to find out that rats, an animal that many do not like enjoy being tickled.

Unknown said...

Just like humans rats do not really liked to be touched in any way when they are in a bad mood. This is another reasoning for having animal rights.

Unknown said...

I found it interesting when the article mentioned that when the rats were placed in a platform or under a bright light they did not respond to the tickling.

I personally do not like rats at all, but I find it very interesting that they can be tickled just like humans. It never even crossed my mind that rats can be tickled.

Unknown said...

I guess rats are cool.

The article emphasize that humans and rats have similar reaction when they are being tickled.

Rats are normally seen as dirty creatures. It was an interesting article since most people think they are filthy, but it was a fun fact to find out about.

I agree with Ryan how do rats develop this of sense of enjoyment of being tickled?

Unknown said...

In response to paulina, I agree with what you are stating. I believe that that is very true.Nice quote!!!

What a intriguing article that certainly dives down deep into the mind and physical aspects of the rat in a very endearing way. To whereas the way the explored the laughter of the rat through ultrasonic waves is extravagant! The results from the gargalesis, demonstrated in a facetious manner was amusing for both my colleague and I. I sure do hope in future references we are able to further explore the wondrous world of other animals.
